History of Kutno`s baseball starts in 1984 thanks to Juan Echevarria, a Cuban living in Kutno. Extraordinary sport discipline (which is baseball) has runned on receptive ground. A few generations of baseball players trained by american, cuban and native trainers has discovered many new values in life and possibilities to practise sport on highests professional levels. During 18 years Kutno inhabitants gained 7 titles of senior Polish Champions and repeatedly had been awarded with Polish Cup and represented our country in european cups. Young adepts of this discipline gained countless medals and champion titles in country competition (including Polish Championships). In 1998 juniors had been awarded with this prestigious title. Their 12-years old team colleagues (team name - "Tarantulas") became Polish Champions. 15-years old cadets had to please themselves with third place in Poland and seniors with vice champion title. This is an important achievement considering dynamical development of baseball in Poland. Nowadays, baseball is being practiced in over 50 associations.

Since 1990 Kutno inhabitants are being appointed to representative teams in all age categories. Kutno baseball players has in their collection bronze medals of Europe Championships in youth category from 1996 and 1998 and in cadets category from 1995.
Initiative of creating baseball section in Kutno had been taken by Juan Echevarria. First menager of  "Stal Kutno" team was Jan Podemski and first head of baseball section in the club was Waldemar Szymański.

Biggest contribution in success of Kutno baseball players has coach Pedro Varona who has been delegated to work in Kutno by the Cuban Baseball Federation. Work of both coaches has resulted in first Polish Champion titles in senior and junior category in 1988. During the same year due to an agreement made with the american baseball organisation first Polish little league associations are being created in Włocławek, Jaśło, Rybnik and Kutno. In the first Polish Championships organised in Rybnik in 1988 youth players of Kutno have been awarded with bronze medal.
Little League in Kutno is developing in a very dynamic way.This fact has resulted in creating few dozens of associations in the following years. Authorities of the american organisation had came out with an idea of locating in Poland sport-educational center for Europe, Africa and Asia. Many candidatures concerning seat of the outpost were considered but eventually European Little League Center has been placed in Kutno.
In prospect, sport complex of the Center had been going to have 7 baseball pitches with social back-up facilities. In 1995 agreement between Little League Incorporated with its seat in Wiliamsport in USA and Kutno city has been made. In the year 1996 at two pitches of the Center first international games took place. It was youth`s European Championships with teams from Netherlands, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Czechia, Croatia, Romania and Poland.
Buildings which belongs to the Center are being used for playing international representations games. Kutno city and Polish Baseball and Softball during 1996 to 2001 had been given task of organising  European Youth Baseball Championship. Particularly good years for Kutno baseball players were years from 2001 to 2002. Competitors of Municipal School Sport Association representing Poland had won in Little League Championships of European Region in Junior League category, so that they could represent Europe in World Little League Baseball Series in Taylor, USA.

In 2000 City Council in Kutno has given Freeman of The Kutno City title to co-authors of Educational Center of Little League Baseball in Kutno.

Since 1996 on buildings of the Center few dozens of baseball tournaments and other sport-recreational events took place. Numeber of participants estimates to couple thousands. Beside forementiones participants the Center was visited by players from Saudi Arabia, Jordania, Kazachstan, Germany, England, Belgium, Moldavia and many others. On the city area there are few local associations gathered in Kutno Little League with Sławomir Podemski as a chairman. Little League exist within the framework of School Sport Association (chairman of the association - Marian Dyda)

18 years history of Kutno`s baseball is filled with sport successes. It is very important for promotion of this discipline although, more important are the results and intermediare achievements. Baseball is a sport that has great educational values. Many young people thanks to it has founded their lifeway. Newly to Poland sport discipline embellished broad panorama of sport in Kutno city. One cannot overestimate promotional values of baseball which with forementioned successes undoubtedly brings. Decision that has been made by Little League authorities concerning localisation of its European Center has an important meaning for future town development. Kutno has gained status of symbolic city in the eyes of Americans. In the nearest future it would bring measurable economic effects. Not many towns with size like Kutno has been given an opportunity to become the european city.
